Now that's what I call cold. O_o
So, if you want to "reserve" your username for possible future use, or just want to get "in" on the action before it's open to the masses, join VOX now! Or not, it's your call. It's still free and I'm guessing always will be (but who knows).
This means the invites I've gotten recently really won't be of much use once anyone can join up, LOL. Great! @_@
Anyway, just thought I'd give the heads-up; spread the word if anyone you know might be interested.
Well...looks like Mom cracked her tailbone & irritated the tissue around it, but will be okay. No broken pelvis, at least. Whew!
My LJ sucks and can't post mobile. Dad got back...we headed to house to get Mom. Update later, I hope.
So, because I entered the Mozilla Japan Vox Banner Contest (and congrats to the winners, by the way), I apparently got 5 additional invites per entry submitted, which means I have "earned" 20 (yes, that is TWENTY) more invites to VOX, which leaves me with 23 invitations to hand out as I see fit. I've only ever sent a few out before, and a couple haven't redeemed theirs yet, so hey, they're for the taking!
That said, anyone out there want to join VOX? Or perhaps someone you know (or many someones you know)? Hit me up on LiveJournal (if you're not on here yet), or here on VOX (if a friend is interested) and let me know where to send them. I definitely have quite a few to spare and not many who are asking, sooooo...friends, relatives, and strangers alike - have at me! My cup literally runneth over here! @_@
Seriously, it's worth looking into. I'm slowly incorporating content that I haven't posted elsewhere, just for fun mainly, but I do like how I can better organize content here, too. It certainly can't hurt to sneak-a-peek, especially since the site hasn't gone "public" yet.
Anyway, just let me know! Kthxbye.
Unlike many, if not most, sensible women of the world, shoes do not make me happy. And neither do socks. I'll go barefoot anyday. Unless it's on a farm, or if it's snowing outside. Oh, and when it's raining, since I don't want to catch a cold.
Maybe it's because I have big feet that are picky - which I do; they're size 9 wide, which means 8 1/2 won't cut it (too small), nor will 9 1/2 (too big), although it does depend on the style. (Well, I can sometimes get away with a regular 9, and maybe an 8 1/2 wide if they're sandals.) But, mainly it has to be a 9. Wide. Only. I used to have much smaller feet that I'd squeeze into all the cute (and expensive) shoes I had when I was a kid, but even then, I still was happier without them (as my often grass-and-dirt-stained tootsies would have attested to). Even the word SHOE is funny if you say it enough times.
Shopping for footwear usually causes turmoil to the point where my friends don't even want to go shoe shopping with me anymore. My Mom always dreaded taking me shoe shopping when I was younger, too. I can feel their pain, since it causes me anguish too; it's very sad. I only buy them when I absolutely have to (read: when my current pair starts to spring a leak and fall apart at the seams), and even then, it is not without a great deal of frustration. I was obviously born to wear no shoes. So, I don't get these women who have hundreds upon thousands of shoes and can't get enough of their Manolos or Uggs or whatever is popular these days. Others actually spend thousands of dollars collecting "special edition" shoes, swapping them out seasonally and what have you, having them custom-made and shipped specially to them, and then there are those who collect decorative shoe figurines or make their own. Seriously...why? Shoes just get in the way and constrict the feet! They're actually FUNNY if you look at them long enough. Then again, that may just be me and my strange sense of humour that sees them that way. Besides, I tend to trip in heels, and occasionally in flats (heck, I can even trip with bare feet, but that's mainly due to inherent clumsiness). I don't get foot fetishes either, but that's another story altogether.
I must confess, though: I do have shoes on right now (and socks), but that's only because I'm at work and there are scary, icky germs and stuff on the floors here. Once I get home, off they'll go! Hey, at least that means I'm saving a LOT of money by not buying these unnecessary fashion accessories, right? Then I can focus my spending on much more desirable "Technogeek" toys! (And to think, some people don't get THAT, go figure!) ^_^
I should probably admit I also like to wear cute socks sometimes; depending on the season or my mood, I can sometimes be seen in Halloween socks, Christmas-themed ones (even in the "off-season"), and ones with cats and other cutesy designs too. I usually don't show them off, but I'll wear them when it's too cold to go out barefoot. It's my own secret little connection to the foot world, without being extravagant about it! Most are given to me as stocking stuffers and gifts anyway, and who can resist cute socks, right? (See, I'm not completely dead inside!)
Why did I decide to write about shoes, anyway? Well, because I could and I decided making a random post addressing this was just the ticket. I hope this clears the air of any burning questions people made have had for me regarding shoes (which I'm pretty sure nobody did, but now you'll know there's no need to ask). If you're like me, feel free to share your thoughts too. And to all those shoe lovers out there, unite! I won't hold it against you, just realize I don't get it, and I'm okay with that.
That is all.
OMFG not another insurance meeting...AFLAC....AAAFLAAAC!
Oh hey! This is more awesome than I thought! I can also syndicate the stand-alone photo content I post here! So, say you DO want to view the photos I post here - you just click the link below, and I guess the rest is magic! I could add the syndication to LJ, but I think that would require another feed altogether...hrm.
Hrm...not sure that worked; let me try this again with another link:
Pictures Currently in Syndication
Well, I'll think about it...after all, if people REALLY want to see something, they'll look for it, right? ;@ )
The sound of chomping gum annoys me. So do people who chew with their mouths open. That is all.
OMFG we have a health insurance meeting this morning at work! I'm gonna die of boredom! Nooooooo! @_@
Edit: Woohoo! We got free doughnuts! Rock on!
